MORON PORTHMADOGGATE

Porthmadog's appeal against the club's ridiculous penalty is due to be heard on 30th March, despite the best efforts of the FAW to obstruct it.

The FAW is insisting that the appeal be heard in Cardiff - 157 miles away from Porthmadog via some of the worst main roads in Europe. This small club has to bus down all its officials and all its witnesses at its own expense with the subsequent loss of wages of course, rather than for three officials from the FAW travel to the town.

It now transpires that the FAW's choice of independent chair of the panel ...
"Did I read this right, Eric? The 'FAW's choice of independent chair for the panel'?"
"Yes, you did"
... is said by some to be the father of the owner of Loosemores Solicitors, the solicitors who will represent the Football Association of Wales and who are sponsors of the FAW's legendary Loose Whore Cup. The casual observer can be surely excused for thinking of the
"Lloyd George knew my father"
"Father knew Lloyd George" syndrome. It's one of those occasions where Burt Reynolds and Dom DeLuise could be excused for saying they're not fathers, they're mothers. I smell something fishy, and I'm not talking about the contents of Baldrick's Apple Crumble either.

I'm sure we can all guess the outcome of such an impartial, even-handed appeal, can't we? So before I go, I'll leave you with a report concerning some racial abuse of a Welsh footballer. See if you can spot the bit where Glasgow Celtic was fined and docked three points for permitting an act of racial abuse on their premises. I can't.

And where was the fine and the three points deduction from Glasgow Rangers for this incident of racist abuse?
